David Laituri

In his role as Vice President, SmartShape Boston, Dave Laituri uses his extensive experience in product design and development to connect SmartShape’s capabilities with the innovation challenges facing its East Coast client partners.
Dave has designed engines for Cadillac, hardware for Apple and kitchen tools for Oxo, and along the way has created award-winning innovation for 10 of the Fortune 100, earned numerous international design awards and more than 40 patents.
He has taught design at universities in the United States, France, Germany & Switzerland.
In 2007, Dave launched the market’s first carbon negative audio brand, Vers, resulting in a Bluetooth sound system line featured in the Apple store.
In 2013, he founded Onehundred with his son, Calvin, as an experiment to design, develop and produce simple, clever products within 100 miles of Boston, launching each of them through crowd-funding events. Onehundred has since run 18 successful crowd funding campaigns, shipping to more than 80 countries.
Dave has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University, a post-graduate certificate from the Staatliche Akademie der bildenden kunste in Stuttgart, Germany and has earned his MBA from the University of Westminster in London.
